Notes on Choosing Pillows

1. Pay attention to the height of the pillow

This also varies from person to person. Although the ancient saying goes "sleep peacefully", it does not mean that the higher the pillow, the better. Because the pillow is too high, no matter what position you sleep in, it will affect your sleep. Unable to maintain the normal lordosis of the cervical spine, it may actually move backwards, increasing the burden on the cervical spine and potentially causing a pillow drop. Similarly, a pillow that is too low is also not good because it can cause congestion in the head, which can easily lead to swelling of the eyelids and face.

2. Pay attention to the hardness of the pillow

This is also moderate. Because the pillow is too hard, the contact area with the head decreases, the pressure increases, and the scalp feels uncomfortable; On the contrary, pillows that are too soft to maintain a certain height can cause excessive fatigue in the neck muscles, affecting smooth breathing and hindering sleep. Only slightly softer without losing a certain degree of hardness can reduce the pressure between the pillow and scalp, maintain uneven pressure, and allow blood circulation to pass through areas with lower pressure, maintaining a certain height.

3. Pay attention to the width of the pillow

In general, it is better to be slightly wider than the shoulder. Don't sleep on a pillow that is too small, as it won't support your neck when you roll over. In addition, a pillow that is too small can also affect the sense of security during sleep.
